Howzit UK is operated by In Code Studios Ltd, a small team of South African expats based in London, UK. Like thousands of other South Africans, we made the move to Britain and quickly learned that the hardest part isn't the visa paperwork or opening a bank account — it's not knowing a single person when you land.
Generic social and dating apps aren't built for expats. They don't understand the specific mix of homesickness, humour, and life admin that comes with rebuilding a life in a new country. So we built Howzit UK: a place to find fellow South Africans nearby, make real friends, attend local events, and get practical, community-sourced advice for navigating the UK.
